Game 2 - April 26, 2009 - Plymouth Lasers - 3 CW3 (Walled Lake) - 0
The Lasers played a much better game today. We held a pretty good team scoreless and at the same time, broke through a tough defense which held us scoreless for much of the first half. We had to overcome a muddy field from heavy rain the day before and we finished the game with a 3-0 victory just before another storm rolled in.
Here's our players did:
Joe was fantastic today keeping the pressure on CW3 all game. He had an assist in the first half. In the second half, he played offense and defense. He had several shots on goal an assist. Mark was outstanding in goal allowing no goals in the first half. In the second half, he was great on offense and midfield.. Brian was stellar on defense in the first half. In the second half, he moved to midfield and really shined with great stops and passes, keeping the attacks going. Nick was great today at left midfield. He had several great blocks and steals and made some outstanding passes. Carter provided a lot of speed and power on the defense. He was great in clearing and passing. Kyle played a great game with several shots on goal and awesome passing. He also had an assist. Austin was incredible as midfielder. He stopped every ball that came his way, and in the second half really pressed the attack. Josh provided a lot of power at midfield and owned his zone. Paul really shined today at midfield. He was great. He did a great job keeping the ball and nearly scored after breaking out of a three man coverage. James scored an amazing goal with his head in the first half. In the second half he was flawless in goal. Bradley gave our defense the added punch it needed. Especially during a play in the second half, CW3 was about to score and Bradley made an amazing block. Jon really was amazing on defense. His speed and his power really helped our defense. In the second half, he played midfield and offense and pressed hard. Kevin scored two goals for the second game in a row! His first goal was an amazing shot from way out. Kevin's second goal was an amazing unassisted corner kick through the keeper's hands. Evan was super strong at defense with great stops and saves. He cleared the ball and was amazing at stealing. Chris came to the game in the second half. He really brought a lot of power to the defense and kept attacking the CW3 offense. Dan truly earned his 'cannon' title again today. He had several amazing saves and clears. Drew was quite amazing on defense and offense. He was fast and elusive in his attacks. He had several shots on goal and was credited with an assist.
