Game 3 - November 8, 2007 - Hawks 57 - Warriors 60

What an amazing improvement in one game!  We only averaged 22 points in our first two games, and tonight we scored 57! 

We once again had a slow start.  We trailed at half time by 16 points.  It started looking like our first two games all over again.  Our opponents, the Warriors, thought they'd get an easy victory by half time.  But we came back.  We hung in there and fought hard in the second half with 14 unanswered points and briefly took the lead against an undefeated team with two players nearly six feet tall. 

In the latter part of the second half, we were on fire, falling behind again, by ten points, we didn't give up.  We pressed, we forced bad passes and travelling calls.  We intercepted passes and scored, bringing the game again within two points.

The Hawks did everything right.  We passed well, we talked to each other, we were open for passes and capitalized on scoring opportunities.  We had six players score tonight, three of whom scored in the double digits!  We also improved offensive rebounds.  We still need to focus on keeping the power forward and center down low consistently so we can get our own rebounds all game.

The players were really fired up at the end of the game.  Coach Ted and Coach Tony are very proud of how quickly the team improved. 

Highlights:

Shawn's dominating defense and aggressive shooting

Nicholas W's much improved defense, forcing several turnovers

Michael's leadership, great passing, shooting and outstanding defense in the second half, making it a closer game

Jaylen's speed and passing

Bradley's improving defense

Yash's defense, especially in the second half full court press, and his aggressive offense

Siddharth's amazing offense and aggressive defense

Brett's excellent defense and great passing

Nick T's fantastic energy, strong offense and great defense

Kristopher's heads up playing, great offense and strong defense
